We‘re all ready to go and should have left today. However, with the floods north, south and all
around Brisbane, we’ve delayed our departure for a few days. There’s no point in setting out until things
have settled a little. We’ll watch the
news and make the decision when it seems sensible to do so. However, we don’t want to leave it any longer
than necessary.
It’s an exciting prospect to be taking a good look at
Australia. It’s a big country and
although we have experience of driving for hours with no appreciable change to
the scenery, we do anticipate that there will be changes, even if they occur
slowly. It seems likely that we’re going
to see some of the devastation caused by high winds and floods on the way
south, and very possibly some burned and blackened bush land as we work our way
westward. But that by necessity must
remain on hold. Hopefully for not too
long.

ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. Will let you know when we get somewhere near Melbourne. After a few weeks in the rooftop tent, a proper bed is likely to be a real luxury.
